Failure

1&1 internet hates bunnies

For some time, I have used 1&1 for a few of my domains. For an equal amount of time, I have regretted this decision. I am now in the process of switching all my domains to Gandi for they are not scam artists, and are French, which is excellent.

Anyway, below is my current (ongoing) debate with 1&1. I hope that it defers you from using their scam flavored brand of failure. Another benefit is now when the 1&1 goons come and whack me, there's public record of our debate. :)

My initial email to them, upon discovering that they yet again claim I owe them money:

The Leadership Curve

Last semester I took a compilers class here at UNI. The class consisted of 6 people, so when it came time to break into groups, we decided to be in one big group. Each person was then assigned a role to do for the project.

As the project manager, it was my job to control the schedule, lead team meetings, and make sure deliverables where submitted. I wanted this job more then the other ones, and was very happy when I got it. I feel that I made several mistakes.

Thursday

It's probably true that one occasion everybody gets a free "really-dumb-moment".

This day happened to be one in which I got exactly zero sleep the night before - due to poor planning and an embrace of college life. I had a Programming Languages (PLP) assignment due. It took a while, and because of my 8 AM class I decided to stay awake instead of getting a few hours of sleep and fighting the alarm clock.

My 8 AM class lasts until 9:15. After it got over I had only one thing to do before my 11 AM class, finish and print my PLP assignment. Since I have 3 classes back to back starting with that 11 AM-er, it's imperative my affairs are in order before I go to the first one.

Doomed for Failure

A recent article discusses the current job market and your average American college graduate. The article basically says "If all you know is Java, you are screwed." At UNI, the first language they taught us was Java. I learned Java from Ben Schafer, in my CS 1 and 2 classes. I attribute my current interest in programming to him, and the things he taught me in Java have been and continue to be the springboard to bigger and better things.
