As a Student
Posted March 25th, 2009 at 2:16 amSometimes I notice things about stuff. When I notice enough of these things that are related, I put them into a blog post. Sometimes I make those blog posts public. This is one of those.
These things happen to be on the subject of school; most notably, professors. If you are a professor of mine, perhaps it would be wise if you didn't read this. Don't say I didn't warn you :)
As a student, please do not waste my time, and I will do my best to not waste yours. Please do not waste my time. Again, as this is very important: please, for the love of $deity, do not waste my time.
As a student, we know when you are playing favorites. Your students know, and we tell the freshmen not to take your classes.
As a student, we can understand when you do not get things back on time...but don't push it.
As a student, please do not make me do an assignment and then grade it superficially. If you are a good professor, I probably spent a very long time working on it. So don't just put a grade on it that I do not deserve. Even if it means I get a lower score. I'm serious. I am not paying you for a grade.
As a student please do not compare class activities to the 'real world'. It isn't the real world. Get over it.
As a student, I appreciate information, integrity, inspiration, and information.
As a student, I sometimes am not paying attention. I am sorry. Perhaps I am checking my text messages for something I feel is important, or perhaps I am on some pretty sweet medication that makes me very tired.Or, maybe, I spent all night wasting my time on an assignment for your class that taught me nothing. You just never can tell!
