Weak Coffee Sucks
Posted June 16th, 2008 at 7:39 amThis morning I woke up early to do some laundry. Today, we're demoing our app at work to some people, and I wanted some clean clothes that look half way presentable. Hopefully it goes ok. There's still a lot of lose ends to tie up before 3 PM, but I think we'll get it done. Anyway, I decided to make some coffee. I poured in water for 8 cups, which gives me a few before I leave and fill up my mug for the travel there and the first few hours at work. What I didn't realize, is that I was almost out of coffee.
I'm sure you've been there; you've poured in the water, so you've effectively committed yourself to the amount in the machine. You look in your fridge, or counter top, or whatever, and discover the horrible, horrible truth: that shit is almost gone. It dawns on you; how this will affect your day. Work is going to be a lethargic mess, after work you'll just sleep on the couch for a while. All because you didn't get a quality cup (or 4) of decent coffee.
What the fuck do you do?
I made my coffee anyway, and now I'm drinking it. It's weak. Weak and lame. I might as well just make some tea. I don't want tea, though. I need the kick a good cup of coffee can provide! I guess I'll be stopping by a Starbucks and ordering a quad shot latte, or as I like to call them "death in a cup".
The only thing the whole world can agree on is coffee is good.
Other then my coffee issue, Omaha is going good. Sometimes I wish I knew more people here, as I get kind of lonely, but that's ok. Most people piss me off anyway, so whatever. I've become friend to a local named Natalie, who's a 30-somethings starving artist type. She's pretty chill, but kind of distant, as she's gone a lot.
God this coffee sucks.
Anyway, I suppose I should go put my laundry in the dryer so it's dry soon enough for me to shower and get out of here before too late so I can stop and get starbucks. I can't drink this shitty coffee all morning, It's going to give me a headache.
Yesterday was father's day, and I didn't get a chance to talk to mine. I'm a bad person I guess. So, for what it's worth: dad, you kick ass.
